What this product is used for
Fine grinding and mark refinement on high-speed glass double-edging machines after the preceding diamond-wheel positions and before final polishing.
Fine-grinding wheel sequence for thin-glass edge control
Frequent edge chipping on approximately 4 mm glass can be caused by an overly aggressive wheel match, but the complete machine condition must be checked first. A conventional 100 + 120 + 140 grit sequence can create too much grinding impact for some thin-glass processes when removal, pressure and feed are not correctly balanced.
For thin glass, a 120 + 140 + 180 reference sequence may provide a finer progression and smoother contact. Where the same line must process both thin and thicker glass, a 100 + 100 + 180 reference sequence can also be reviewed. These are starting points for technical evaluation rather than fixed recipes for every double edger.
The black dense-tooth resin wheel is used at the fine-grinding stage to refine preceding marks and prepare a stable surface for final polishing. Before changing the wheel sequence, confirm spindle runout, flange condition, coolant, feed, stock removal, glass quality and the exact position of every installed wheel.
